I'm also seeing a lot of attacks based on protecting systems that are already really broken and ineffective, such as in education, copyright, politics and so on. The best way out is through, not back.

Genuine question:

I understand the comparison to for example Photoshop for harmful image manipulation or already existing phone scams or website/email spam but AI is an EXTREME boost to scale and speed of these malicious actions.

I think we do need SOMETHING to help us mitigate that, so what is the most sensible thing to do?

(I definitely agree that open source AI is the much safer choice than keeping everything behind locked doors)
